The Scope
The project comprised preparation of integrated transmission system expansion project to evacuate power from about 5000 MW of existing and new hydropower projects in state as well as development of four small hydropower projects in the State. Transmission system design will strengthen the in-state grid and facilitate export of power into the Northern regional grid. The project aimed to support sector reforms including commercialization of Transco and reduction in transmission and distribution losses. The hydropower projects analyzed included Kaldigad Hydropower Project (9MW), Kaliganga-I Hydropower Project (4MW), Kaliganga-II Hydropower Project (6MW) and Madhyamaheswar Hydropower Project (10MW).
