From February 2021 to December 2022, we spearheaded a transformative consultancy project to update Ghana’s GIS Electrification Database, a critical step in shaping the nation’s Last-Mile Electrification Investment Plan. Commissioned by the Ministry of Energy in collaboration with the World Bank, our mission was to create a comprehensive, data-driven roadmap for expanding electricity access to unserved communities.
Our approach was meticulous and future-focused. We conducted an in-depth review and assessment of the existing GIS electrification database, identifying spatial referencing gaps, topological inconsistencies, and content deficiencies. Armed with this insight, we deployed a cutting-edge data collection strategy, leveraging diverse sources to gather precise information, generate GIS-powered maps, and verify non-electrified communities.
But we didn’t stop at just data collection—we ensured seamless data integration and processing, uploading the refined dataset into the Ministry’s GIS system. The culmination of our efforts? A comprehensive final report, equipping policymakers with the insights needed to accelerate electrification and power a brighter future for Ghana.
Through innovation, precision, and commitment, we didn’t just update a database - we laid the foundation for nationwide energy access and economic growth.
